What is a CSA Program?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Joining a CSA is an investment in the community and success of your local farm.
2025 CSA Membership Details
Cropsey Community Farm’s CSA is a buy-down model. This is a newer model of CSA becoming increasingly common among small farms, and for good reason!

How It Works
Members buy “a share” of the farm in advance of the growing season. That money is held for you until the Farm Stand opens in the spring, when you can use your balance to purchase produce, flowers, and plants throughout the season (May 10th - November 29th).
Why a Buy-Down Model
- There’s ULTIMATE FLEXIBILITY on what items you get
- You choose when you shop and what you buy — shop weekly all season long or spend it all on tomatoes in August, it’s up to you!
- No waste from pre-packed boxes of items you might not want
- No rushing to a pick up site
- No scheduling skip dates if you’re out of town
- You support the farm in our least profitable time of year. Pre-paying in the winter helps the farm buy seeds, maintain equipment, pay the farmers, and keep the lights on.

CSA membership updates for 2025:
FAQs
Why did the 10% market discount change for CSA members?
We are always comparing our prices against other retail prices like grocery stores and local farmers markets, and judging if our produce prices are fair for the consumer and the farmer. Due to inflation’s impact on everyone, we had 2 options: raise prices for everyone or keep our prices low for the entire community by changing our CSA incentives. We opted for the latter.
Why will CSA members only be able to purchase produce, flowers, and plants with their balance?
Doing this keeps prices affordable for the entire community and allows CSA sales to go directly to strengthening our own farm operations.
What is the difference in membership levels?
The only difference in the two levels is the extra perks members receive. There is no difference in what members can purchase.
Can I buy a CSA membership using my SNAP benefits?
Not currently, but we are actively working on making this possible!
When can members come and shop?
We will be opening our market mid May. We got a later start to our season this year and doing our best to get everything together to open as soon as we can!
How do members spend their balance?
We will keep track of member spending and let you know your remaining balance after each shopping trip.
What happens when you spend your whole balance?
By buying a CSA share for the 2025 season, you are a member for the whole year and will continue to get the CSA perks. After spending your CSA balance, you can continue to shop in the market with card or cash.
What happens if you don’t spend your whole balance by the end of the season (November 29th)?
CSAs last only for the current year. The remaining balance will be considered a donation back to the farm in December.
What produce is available seasonally?
Some examples are:
Spring - lettuces, peas, carrots, radishes, salad turnips, bok choy, arugula, herbs
Summer - tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuce, beets, zucchini, string beans
Fall - winter squash, pumpkins, greens, cabbage, celery
Farmer & CSA Member Commitment Agreement
By purchasing a CSA membership, you, the member, and we, the farmers, make a commitment with each other. You commit to buying your produce from us during the growing season and we commit to growing the best possible produce for you.
When you purchase a CSA share, you are becoming a stakeholder in the farm. With that comes understanding the risks associated with organic farming. There are elements beyond the farmer’s control that may impact crop quality and quantity, including weather, insects, and critters. However, if the farm does well, you will share in that bounty.
