2025 junior farm camp

Camp Registration is Now Open!

Summer Camp 2025 includes 6 themed weeks

July 7th - Aug 15th  ·  9am-3pm  ·  Monday-Friday

Junior Farmers' Camp introduces children to sustainable agriculture, healthy living, and environmental stewardship through discovery, play, and getting their hands dirty by farming in the Children’s Garden

Our expert staff will lead children, ages 6 - 12, or entering grades 1 - 7, through a multitude of activities — such as gardening workshops, science experiments, planting, harvesting, animal care, crop sampling, bug hunts, cooking activities, foraging walks, nature crafts, and more — for a highly interactive, agricultural education.

At the end of the week, each junior farmer takes home their field journal, recipes, unique knowledge, and a new perspective on where food comes from and how it gets to our tables.

Campers host their very own farm stand on Fridays to share with their families the culmination of all their hard work.

A Typical Day at the Farm

After the children all arrive and settle in, we usually take a moment to write or draw in our journals before heading off for garden chores & activities. Next, we might have a snack and spend some time taking care of the animals. Generally in the late morning we may do a project (art, cooking, or science) and then go for a nature walk. Then we'll have lunch!

In the afternoons we may play field games or cool off in the sprinkler. Some days we will have a visiting guest (yoga, bee keeper, farmer, herbalist, musician). Then there's an afternoon snack and chasing butterflies before getting ready for parent pick up.

6 themed weeks

All camp weeks will include interactions with the animals, cooking, and selling items in our junior farmers market, nature based crafts, nature walks, scavenger hunts, and water-play activities. Children are required to bring their own lunch as well as a snack and an insulated water bottle.

Information for Parents

Junior Farmers' Camp runs every day, rain or shine. Children should dress for the weather and plan to be outdoors most of the day.

On a daily basis, you should send your child with a swimsuit & towel (& water shoes if needed). You may want to pack a change of clothes. You should also be sure to supply children with rain gear when necessary and pack them with your preferred sunscreen, which should be applied before arriving at the farm each morning. We can make sure to reapply if necessary throughout the day. All students must wear sneakers or some type of boot. Sandals or other open-toed shoes are not permitted on the farm.

Please send your child to the farm with a labeled, reusable water bottle as well as a packed lunch.

Children must be dropped off and signed in with their counselor promptly at 9am by a parent/guardian, and signed out at the end of the day. If you need to pick your child up earlier please inform the counselors at drop-off.

program

The program will introduce the younger children to concepts in science and help develop their connection with the natural world. Through exploration of new plants, imaginative games, crafts, workshops, and multi-sensory discovery on the farm, students will understand the important role that local farms play in our lives.

For
older children, this program will deepen their understanding of relationships and patterns within our ecosystem. Through scientific experiments, observations on and around the farm, foraging walks, the study of wildlife working in harmony with the farm, and plenty of arts, crafts and field games, children will end their session with a strong connection to nature and local agriculture.

meals

Students are asked to bring a healthy, bagged lunch with them each day.

We can accommodate any food restrictions. Please include details on the health form or contact
