Volunteering

How You Can Help

Volunteering is a great way to be a part of the RFA community,
learn about local organic agriculture, and help the farm!

From spring through autumn, individuals ages 16 and older* are invited to work in the certified organic growing fields alongside our farmers. We also have other ongoing farm tasks that we need your help with, such as building small structures and painting. These tasks are mostly done outdoors and can sometimes be physically strenuous. We highly recommend wearing weather appropriate attire. (ie. Hat, sunglasses, rain gear, layers, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, etc.)

We can provide water and gloves for our volunteers to wear while helping us. We will also provide all of the tools needed to complete the projects, but we recommend bringing your own gloves and insulated water bottles if you have them. We also highly encourage you to bring your own lunch or snacks along!

There are so many benefits to volunteering with Rockland Farm Alliance; including meeting like-minded individuals, gaining hands-on skills in agriculture, experiencing the serenity of Cropsey Community Farm just minutes from home, as well as getting to enjoy days filled with farm fresh air and exercise.

If you are interested in volunteering or have a specific set of skills you would like to contribute to the farm, please let us know by emailing maria@rocklandfarm.org or by using the link below to fill out our Volunteer Form.

*We welcome volunteers as young as 13, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of their time at the farm.

Farm Volunteer Days

Saturday, June 22nd 2024

10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm

Corporate/Group Volunteering

As a group, if you are looking to set up a group volunteer day or a corporate give back day, please reach out to maria@rocklandfarm.org. We are able to set these up throughout the year for groups both large and small, including Girl Scout and Boy Scout projects. Some of the past group/corporate volunteer days included mulching garlic, setting up for the fall festival, transplanting fall produce, clearing out the flower garden, and building picnic tables!
