CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. When you purchase a CSA share you are, in essence, becoming a stakeholder in the farm. Being part of a CSA is a community investment in the success of a farm and the sustained existence of local small-scale agriculture.
CSA shareholders buy shares in advance of the growing season to help finance the costs of farming. That money is used to help buy seeds, maintain equipment, pay salaries for the farm crew, as well as keep the lights on and the coolers running. In return, you are guaranteed a share of the farm's harvest. If there are hardships that season (weather, critters, etc), the quantity or quality of the harvest may be affected; however, if the farm does well, you will share in that bounty!
2025 CSA Membership is NOW OPEN
In 2023, we changed our veg and meat CSA model to a market card membership. Members pre-pay in the winter for produce available at any point during the growing season. This model provides ULTIMATE FLEXIBILITY in what, when, and how much you buy!
After collecting member feedback, there are a few CSA changes for 2025:
A note on our changes:
We are always comparing our prices against other retail prices like grocery stores and local farmers markets, and judging if what we price our produce at is fair for the consumer and the farmer. We noticed the impact inflation has had on everyone, and in order to keep our prices low for the entire community, we had to change our incentives.
We also wanted to make our CSA more community-oriented. This includes helping our members join our variety of events throughout the year and sharing our produce bounties with our CSA members when our crops are doing well!
We sincerely thank you for supporting your small, local farm and investing in your community! We couldn't keep our historical farm up and running without the support from all of you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference in membership levels?
We offer 2 levels of memberships in order to make our CSA more accessible. There is no difference in what members can purchase.
When can members come and shop?
During market hours! In 2024 our market hours were Thurs and Fri 10-4 and Sat 10-2.
Our store is also stocked with vintage finds, antiques, and gifts!
How do Members spend their balance?
We will keep track of member spending and remaining balance and also give members a physical copy to keep track. We will not be distributing plastic cards this year due to the high cost of fees associated with Square and their cards. Instead of passing on the cost of these fees to the customer, we'll just eliminate it! It helps keep our prices lower, as well.
What produce is available seasonally?
Spring - lettuces, peas, salad greens, carrots, radishes, herbs
Summer - tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuce, carrots, beets, zucchini, string beans
Fall - winter squash, pumpkins, carrots, greens, cabbage
